Following the event, a number of establishments openly condemned his remarks as racist and cancelled his planned performances.
His agent also dropped him.

What did he say?
Lawrence had posted on X: “To be fair, if I was in Liverpool, I'd drive through crowds of people to get the f*** out of there as well.”
What has been the reaction?
The comedian's post has received a lot of criticism for its insensitivity, with one user calling it “vile” in one remark.
“You are absolutely vile. You wouldn't utter this sentence if your 9-year-old daughter had been dragged under that car. If anyone deserves to be canceled, this is it. Disgusting person” one user tweeted.

In response to venues cancelling Lawrence’s comedy gigs, one user wrote: “One down, a few more to go.... The little gobs**** still refuses to apologise for his shite attempt at humour.. Maybe, once the rest of the venues pull the plug, he'll realise, actions have consequences. #AndrewLawrence”

Lawrence was scheduled to perform on June 15 at a comedy club in Essex, but the show has been cancelled.
The Caddies venue issued the following statement: “We do not condone or support the comment that has been made online, and we send everyone impacted by the tragic events in Liverpool our support and prayers.”
In a bold statement, the comedian wrote: “This venue lost their courage after being bombarded with abuse and threats of violence from online trolls.
He has promised to change the show's date and perform somewhere else in Southend.
However, several other comedy clubs have declared in declarations that Lawrence is no longer permitted to perform on their stages.
Including the Hot Water Comedy Club - one of Liverpool's best-known venues - who commented on Instagram: “That's not comedy. It's cruelty, plain and simple.”
Its statement added: “We believe in the power of comedy to challenge, uplift and connect - not to target people in moments of real pain.”
