Who is Colin Thackery on Britain's Got Talent? Chelsea Pensioner wins in final

So after months of auditions and a week of live semi finals, it was the final of Britain's Got Talent on Sunday.

And one of the acts in the running for Britain's Got Talent glory this year is Chelsea pensioner and singer Colin Thackery.

Colin had the judges and everyone watching at home in tears at his audition when he performed Wind Beneath My Wings from Beaches for his late wife.

He got four emphatic yeses and then got an even bigger thumbs up from the voting public when he won his semi final on Wednesday after a moving take on We'll Meet Again, where he was joined by some of his fellow Chelsea Pensioners.

Colin was the last of 11 acts to perform in the on Sunday, wowing again with his take on Love Changes Everything, leading to judge David Walliams labelling him unbeatable.

Who is Colin Thackery?

Colin is 89 and going into Sunday's final he was actually bookies favourite to win this year's BGT.

He said he dreams of singing for the Royal Family after serving in the military for 25 years.

Colin served in the Royal Artillery and went to war in Korea just two weeks after marrying his partner Joan.

He now lives at the Royal Hospital Chelsea with the Chelsea Pensioners.

Colin added: "I served her for 25 years, I'd love to sing to The Queen. If I did, I would die happy."
