The Belfast Giants have announced the signing of Ciaran Long for the 2019/20 Elite League season.
The English forward joins following two successful seasons with the Manchester Storm.

Who has he played for previously?
Long has been with Manchester Storm the past two seasons. He joined the Storm in 2017/18 from the EPL’s Basingstoke Bison and he helped the team to the Patton Conference title. The forward helped the Bison to the EPL title, cup and playoffs during his four seasons there.
International recognition
Long has also represented Team GB at international level, winning Gold with both U18 and U20 - only missing out on this year’s senior team through injury.

How did he get on last season?
Long was named the ‘British Player of the Year’ in the end-of-season Elite League awards. In 2018/19 Long posted the highest points total for any UK based player with 29 goals and 36 assists, good for 65 points in 66 games played and 21 points clear of second place.

Head Coach Adam Keefe said: “Ciaran is someone who we have wanted for a while. He hurt us at times last season and I know there was a high demand for his signature. Ciaran is a talented hockey player who can put up good numbers. He works hard on every night and I am pleased he will be wearing teal in 2019/20.”
