Who is Spain's Eurovision entry Chanel? SloMo singer has fans' expectations sorting ahead of final

While this year's Eurovision Song Contest is rather short on big up-tempo numbers, Spain are serving up a very memorable one courtesy of their representative Chanel.

While the reaction to her winning Spain's national selection in Benidorm earlier this year, suggested not all natives were entirely pleased with her victory, support has been growing and growing for the singing siren ahead of Saturday's Eurovision final and she has got some very dedicated fans who have been flooding social media with posts about her.

With Spain one of the 'big five,' Chanel has always had a guaranteed place in the final, alongside the likes of France, Germany and Italy and the UK's Sam Ryder. and fans seem to be pleased with the fact that the Eurovision final running order has her in 10th place. Chanel has long since been a front runner in the eyes of the bookies and, ahead of the finale, was in the top 5 contenders in the winner odds

She is expected to be right in the mix come Saturday night, along with Sam, Sweden's Cornelia Jakobs, Ukraine's Kaslush Orchestra, host nation Italy and the act, many people now believe to be this year's dark horse, Serbia's entry Konstrakta who sang about Meghan Markle.

Who is Spain's Eurovision act Chanel?

Chanel, full name Chanel Terrero Martínez, is 30 and came very close to landing the role of Maria in Steven Speilberg's big money adaptation of classic musical West Side Story. Chanel has a long career on stage, with performances in the likes of productions of Mamma Mia and Flashdance.

She is also no stranger to working with music icons, having danced for Shakira, as well as being a backing singer in a video by former X Factor star Ruth Lorenzo. Chanel's choreographer is also a fan of working with big stars, having previously collaborated with artists like Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Black Pink.

Giving fans a snapshot of her rehearsals for Saturday's Eurovision, Chanel captioned the behind the scenes video: " Eurovision is this Saturday! My palms are sweating because I’m so nervous. Vote for SPAIN."
