Who is Celeste? Brits Rising Star award winner to perform at ceremony

Tuesday night will be a big one in the career of young singer Celeste.

Celeste is the recipient of this year's Brit Award for Rising Star, formerly known as Critics Choice, and part of her prize will be to perform in front of a capacity crowd at London's O2 Arena for the ceremony, which will also air live on ITV.

She joins a list of Brits performers which also includes Lizzo, Billie Eilish and Rod Stewart, while Brits nominees hoping to take home some trophies on the night include frontrunners Stormzy, Lewis Capaldi and Dave.

Celeste is the latest in a long line of emerging talent who have been honoured by the Brits early in their career. Critics Choice winners in the past include Adele, Sam Smith, Ellie Goulding and Jessie J.

Talking about her Brits win, Celeste said: "Like many others, I grew up watching the Brits and have been continually inspired by its nominees, winners and the performances.
