As with every transfer window, there is always a new name linked with clubs to get fans excited, and it is no different with Arsenal this year.
Fans have become frustrated with the lack of transfer activity since the capture of Gabriel Martinelli earlier in the window, although it only looks like a matter of time before signing number two in the form of French defender William Saliba is officially confirmed as an Arsenal player. It is however thought that the 18-year-old will spend this season on loan at Saint Etienne.
But there is another French youngster who seems to be on Unai Emery's radar. Bilel Hassaini is said to be attracting the interest of a number of different clubs, including Arsenal.
So, who is the teenager, and what would he bring to the Emirates Stadium? Take a look below to find out.
Who is Bilel Hassaini?
Hassaini is an 18-year-old right winger who plays for French second tier side AS Nancy.
He was born in Maubeuge, France, and has spent his entire career at the club, having come through the academy.
The left-footed teenager is a French U17 international, and although predominantly played on the right, is able to play in any position across the front three.
How did he perform this season?
The youngster is yet to make his senior debut for his club, despite this, he is one of the most sought after young talents in Europe.
Hassaini has played a total of nine times for the French U17 team, providing teammates with two assists.
It is likely, if he joins a new club, he will go into the U23 squad for the forthcoming season.
What other clubs are interested?
As previously mentioned, Hassaini is one of the most sought after youngsters on the continent, meaning that Arsenal will have to fight off a lot of competition should they wish to sign him.
Paris Saint-Germain were said to be in advanced discussions with the player, but are reported to have pulled out of any potential deal.
Barcelona and Crystal Palace have been credited with an interest in taking the 18-year-old.
Foot Mercato (via Get French Football News ) report that Liverpool are the latest team to make an approach for the player, with French club Saint Etienne also making contact with the winger.
How much will he cost?
Hassaini is out of contract AS Nancy, and is yet to agree new terms with the cash strapped club, meaning that he is available on a free transfer. Although, because of his age there will be a compensation fee that will have to be paid to the French club should the player sign for someone else.
The fact that the deal won't take a lot of money to complete probably explain why so may clubs are interested in taking the winger.
It is believed that compensation due to AS Nancy will be in the region of €300,000 - the fee that PSG agreed before the deal fell through.
