It has been four years since a new-look Bethany Platt returned to the cobbles in the shape of Lucy Fallon.
The 23-year-old actress was swooped in to join the iconic Coronation Street family in 2015 after the girl who was originally cast to play her lied about her age and was dropped by the ITV soap.
Lucy has since made her mark on the role alongside Platt family matriarch Gail (Helen Worth), uncle David (Jack P Shepherd) and on-screen mum Sarah (Tina O'Brien).
The Blackpool native has been involved in a whole host of strong storylines, the most notable being one of the most controversial the soap has seen in years.
Schoolgirl Bethany was raped and groomed by the manipulative Nathan Curtis and his sordid gang of friends before embarking on a job in a strip club in a bid to claim back control over men.
The harrowing storyline saw Lucy scoop two awards at the British Soap Awards in 2018 for Best Female Dramatic performance and Best Actress.
Bethany has since had a quieter time on the cobbles and that could well continue as Lucy has announced that she is to quit the soap at the end of her contract in 2020.
Announcing her decision to leave, Lucy wrote in a statement on Twitter: "After the most incredible four years, I have made the extremely difficult decision to leave Coronation Street at the end of my contract in 2020.
"It's hard to put into words how much this show means to me.
"I've made lifelong friends with some of the most talented and hardworking people in the industry, I've had some terrific and immensely important storylines and I've laughed with the best people everyday.
"I'm so thankful to Iain (Corrie boss Iain MacLeod) and everyone at Coronation Street, I owe everything to them and I will miss them greatly.
"Thank you so much for your support and love... can't wait to see what's in store for Bethany this year."
Corrie is Lucy's first major actor role but the actress could find herself on a theatre stage after a successful stint on All Star Musicals in 2017.
She wowed viewers when she performed Don’t Cry For Me Argentina on the ITV show and beat fellow famous faces to the top spot.
Lucy also has quite the fan base with more than 430,000 people following her every move on Instagram.
