The Chicago Bears have a rich legacy of great defenses. And despite this 2019 unit’s stumble against the Oakland Raiders in Week 5, this is still a championship-caliber defense.
The leader of that defense is edge rusher Khalil Mack, who continues to be worth every dollar of that $141 million contract.
There have been so many great contributors on defense this season, linebacker Danny Trevathan is a name that comes to mind, but it doesn’t take a football expert to see that the Bears’ defensive MVP so far this season has been Mack.
Even when Mack isn’t racking up sacks and forced fumbles — which he’s done early and often this season — he affects every play, which only makes this great Bears defense even better.
