Who is Andrea Bocelli? Strictly Come Dancing performance awaits for opera singer

Get ready to be totally moved if you're planning on tuning into Strictly Come Dancing's results show on Sunday night.

And that's because the guest performer for this week is none other than opera singer Andrea Bocelli, the man with the absolutely incredible voice.

Special guests so far on Strictly this year have included Keith Urban, Lewis Capaldi and Westlife and Andrea is set to follow in their footsteps by singing Time To Say Goodbye before the results are announced this weekend, although

The results show will also feature a group dance by the Strictly professionals, who have given a number of memorable routines to date.

Who is Andrea Bocelli?

Andrea Bocelli s an Italian opera singer, songwriter, and record producer, born in Lajatico in Italy in September 1958, making him 61.

Andrea was diagnosed with congenital glaucoma as a child and showed a great passion for music from a young age.

Tragedy struck 12-year-old Andrea when lost his sight completely following an accident during a football game.

He was hit in the eye playing goalkeeper during a match and suffered a brain hemorrhage. Doctors were unsuccessful in their attempts to save his sight and he has been blind ever since.

He released his debut album in 1994 but it was in 1997 that he first became a big name in the UK when his duet of Time To Say Goodbye, originally called Con te partirò, with Sarah Brightman reached number 2 in the charts, still holding the title of one of the highest-selling opera singles of all time.

Other memorable collaboration sover the years have seen Andrea duet with Celine Dion on The Prayer and Ed Sheeran on an operatic re-working of his number 1 hit Perfect.

Last year Andrea performed two songs at Princess Eugenie's wedding.
