Who is Amy Tinkler on Dancing On Ice and how long has she trained for?

Amy Tinkler will be making her Dancing On Ice debut this weekend after being drafted in last minute.

The ITV skating competition began two weeks ago but a horror injury has forced Denise Van Outen out of the competition.

After fighting through the pain during her first performance after a fall in training, the presenter later found out she had three bone fractures as well as partial dislocation.

In her place, retired British artistic gymnast Amy will take to the ice.

The 21-year-old competed with the British team at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio at just 16-years-old and walked away with a bronze medal.

In 2018, Amy pulled out from the Birmingham World Cup after tearing ligaments in her ankle and later withdrew from the Commonwealth Games.

She then retired from the sport in January 2020 but said this wasn't down to 'physical injury'.

Amy will now take part in Dancing On Ice with professional skater Joe Johnson.

She revealed this week that the pair have been in training for three months and has been "working super hard as the reserve team."

Amy also wished Denise a "very speedy recovery" following her exit.
