Who is Aitch in the Soccer Aid 2021 England team?

With the annual Soccer Aid taking place tonight, many may be wondering who Aitch is and why he's part of the event this year.

The musician is among the names lined up to take part in the big football event at the Etihad.

The match is being broadcast live on ITV as fans descend on the home of Manchester City for an interesting game.

As for Aitch, the Manchester-born rapper from New Moston, will join the England side as they play to win on Saturday.

The young star, whose real name is Harrison Armstrong, is best known for topping the UK charts in August 2019 with his single 'Taste (Make it shake)'.

Aitch is an avid Manchester United supporter (MEN UGC)

He has also featured on tracks with another Manchester rapper, Bugzy Malone, and other chart-toppers such as Russ Millions and Tion Wayne.

So far, two of his three albums has topped the UK charts with 'AitcH2O' reaching number three and 'Polaris' peaking at number seven.

His football roots can be found in his long-term support for Manchester United - last year he helped the team reveal its new kit as part of an Adidas advert.

In a video announcing his addition to the line-up, Aitch said: "I'm gassed to announce that I'm playing for England at Soccer Aid for UNICEF on Saturday 4th September," he said in a video announcing the addition to the glittering line-up.

"The big game takes place in my hometown, Manchester. So if you're from the 0161 or not, get your tickets today."

Now in its 10th year, donations from Soccer Aid go to Unicef and this year the focus will again be on the global impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among those also taking part are Olly Murs, Lee Mack, Mo Farah, Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney.

The game takes place on Saturday September 4, with kick-off at 7.30pm with coverage starting on ITV at 6.30pm.
