Who is Abdoulaye Diallo? The man 'in talks' over Nottingham Forest move

New Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is said to be in talks with goalkeeper Abdoulaye Diallo, according to French Football News.

The Senegalese goalkeeper left Rennes this summer at the end of his contract and could now be set to become Lamouchi's first signing.

But who is he? What are the chances of his joining the Reds? And what does this mean for Forest's deal to sign Aro Muric?

Doesn't he already have a club?

According to newly promoted Turkish SuperLig club Genclerbirligi Spor Kulubu, Diallo has already put pen to paper on a two-year-deal ahead of next season.

But now reports in France claim that the shot stopper has not signed anything yet, and is still away with Senegal at this summer's African Cup of Nations.

The report also claims that Caen and Dijon are both keen on hijacking any deal before the 27-year-old can complete a move to Turkey.

After being spotted as a teenager, Diallo joined Rennes in 2007 but during his 12 years in the north of France he only ever made 27 appearances.

The majority of which came under Lamouchi during the Frenchman's 13 month rein at Roazhon Park.

Diallo fought his way into contention for a place as Rennes battled to a fifth place finishing in Ligue 1.

And the following season was a regular for Les Rennais up until his boss was sacked in December.

The majority of his first team football during his career has come with loan spells at Le Harve and Caykur Rizespor.

Does this spell the end for Forest's pursuit of Aro Muric?

Between the sticks was not top of the list of areas where Forest fans felt they would need to strengthen ahead of next season.

Costel Pantilimon kept 15 clean sheets in the league last season, and played more minutes than any other City Ground player.

But now Diallo becomes the fourth goalkeeper linked with a Reds move this summer, after Benjamin Siegrist, Asmir Begovic and Arijanet Muric.

However, the Post understands that the Reds still expect to complete the loan signing of their Manchester City target, Muric.

Pep Guaridola's youngster played a key role as the Etihad club plotted their route a Wembley EFL Cup final last season.
