The Arizona Cardinals have three selections in the seventh round of the 2019 draft. Their first seventh-round selection is the 34th pick in the round, which is no. 248 overall.
What type of player can fans expect with that pick? Most guys have flamed out but one in the last few years has become a starter in the league for a Super Bowl team.
Let’s see who the last six players were who were selected 248th overall.
2018: OLB Kendall Donnerson, Green Bay Packers

Donnerson did not make the team initially but spent the year on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in December. He did not appear in any games.
2017: OLB Keion Adams, Pittsburgh Steelers

Adams is still in the league. He has yet to play in the NFL, though. He spent his rookie season on injured reserve and then 2018 on the practice squad.
2016: G Austin Blythe, Indianapolis Colts

Blythe is the scenario Cardinals fans should want from this pick. He appeared in eight games as a rookie, starting one, with the Colts. He was cut and then picked up by the Los Angeles Rams. He started one game in 2017 but then started all 16 games at right guard for the Rams last year.
2015: S Ryan Murphy, Seattle Seahawks

Murphy has bounced around a bit. Since being drafted, he has only played in three games, all in 2017. He started with the Seahawks, then with the Denver Broncos and then the New York Giants. He was not on any roster in 2018.
2014: S Ahmad Dixon, Dallas Cowboys

Dixon lasted one season in the NFL. He ended up on the roster of three different teams and, between them, played in 11 games as a rookie. He was cut the subsequent offseason and hasn’t been on a roster since.
2013: DB Daimion Stafford, Tennessee Titans

Stafford lasted four years in the NFL. Drafted by the Titans, he played in 62 of 64 games in four years. He started eight games. He had two career interceptions and three career sacks. He signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017 and then did not report to offseason work.
