The Arizona Cardinals hold the 103rd overall pick in the NFL draft. That pick kicks off Day 3 of the draft as the first pick in the fourth round.
What sort of player can the Cardinals land with that selection? Based on the last six years, the chance of getting a solid player or even a very good player isn’t bad.
Here are the last six players taken with the 103rd overall pick in the draft:
2018: WR Keke Coutee, Houston Texans

Coutee only appeared in six games as a rookie but he caught 28 passes for 287 yards and a touchdown. He was huge in the Texans’ playoff loss to the Indianapolis Colts, though. catching 11 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown.
2017: DE Trey Hendrickson, New Orleans Saints

Hendrickson has not been an impact player yet. In two seasons, he has played in 17 games, has two sacks and 14 career tackles.
2016: DT Sheldon Day, Jacksonville Jaguars

Day was drafted by the Jaguars but no longer plays for them. The San Francisco 49ers claimed him off waivers in 2017. In three seasons, he has five career sacks and 38 career tackles, 11 for a loss. He gets some playing time but not a lot.
2015: QB Bryce Petty, New York Jets

Petty is not on an NFL roster. Drafted by the Jets, he started seven games in three seasons, going 1-6 in those games. He threw four touchdown passes and 10 interceptions. Last offseason, he was cut by the Jets, picked up by the Miami Dolphins and eventually cut after he was placed on injured reserve and then received an injury settlement.
2014: RB Devonta Freeman, Atlanta Falcons

Freeman was a steal in the draft, outshining Tevin Coleman, who was a first-round pick, although the Falcons had a one-two punch in the running game. He was a Pro Bowler in 2015 and 2016, when he rushed for more than 1,000 yards each season and more than 1,500 yards from scrimmage. He earned a five-year, $41.2 million contract extension in 2017 and in 2018 he only played two games before landing on injured reserve.
2013: DE Alex Okafor, Arizona Cardinals

Okafor is still in the league. He showed some promise with the Cardinals but injuries kept him from being good. He led the team in sacks in 2014 with eight. He has played the last two seasons for the New Orleans Saints, has had 8.5 sacks in those two seasons and signed a two-year contract to return to the Saints.
