The Arizona Cardinals have two fourth-round picks in this year’s NFL draft. The first of those picks is the 114th overall selection. Who has been selected 114th overall?
Let’s look at the last 10 years of players and what they accomplished or have accomplished in their careers.
2019: OL Dru Samia, Vikings
Samia only appeared in two games as a rookie. We will see if he does more in his second season.
2018: DL Da’Shawn Hand, Lions
Hand played in 13 games as a rookie, starting eight games. He had three sacks and 27 tackles before ending up on injured reserve. Injuries limited him to only three games in 2019 and he was on IR again to end the season.
2017: RB Samaje Perine, Redskins
As a rookie for the Redskins, he made a big impact, rushing for 603 yards and a touchdown. He also caught 22 passes.
In 2018, he did not do well. He played in only five games and got eight carries. He was cut before the 2019 season, claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent time on their roster and practice squad, getting signed in December by the Miami Dolphins.
2016: WR Ricardo Louis, Browns
Louis lasted two seasons in the NFL. He caught 45 passes for 562 yards in those two seasons.
2015: OL Jamil Douglas, Dolphins
As a rookie for the Dolphins, he started six games. In 2016, he appeared in one game for Miami and then bounced around for two seasons on the practice squads of the New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts. In 2019, he was signed by the Tennessee Titans, He played in 15 games, starting five.
2014: CB Aaron Colvin, Jaguars
Colvin played four seasons for the Jaguars. He had four sacks from the cornerback position in 2015. After four years in Jacksonville, he signed with the Houston Texans. He played one game for Houston in 2019 and then was signed by the Washington Redskins. he played six games for them.
2013: CB B.W. Webb, Cowboys
Webb has played six seasons in the NFL, each year for a different team. He started with the Cowboys, then went on to play for the Steelers, Titans, Saints, Giants and Bengals.
He has 80 career games and 35 career starts. He had picked off four passes and broken up 27 in his career.
2012: DL Jaye Howard, Seahawks
Howard lasted only one season with the Seahawks and played in one game, but he played four more years in the NFL, all with the Kansas City Chiefs. His best season was 2015 when he had 57 tackles and 5.5 sacks as a starting defensive lineman for the Chiefs.
He finished with 122 career tackles and 7.5 sacks in 45 games and 30 starts.
2011: WR Cecil Shorts, Jaguars
Shorts lasted six seasons in the NFL. he had four years with the Jaguars and followed that up with a season each with the Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He had a career-high 979 receiving yards in 2012 and 66 receptions in 2013.
He finished with 229 catches for 2,979 yards and 14 touchdowns.
2010: TE Dennis Pitta, Ravens
Pitta played seven seasons, all for the Ravens who drafted him. He finished his career with 224 career receptions for 2,098 yards and 13 touchdowns. His best season was his last one in 2016, when he had 86 catches.
