WHO expert warns now is time to be 'super careful' ahead of major lockdown changes

Boris Johnson is set to announce the latest changes to lockdown restrictions today - but an expert is exercising caution.

As the country works towards emerging from the lockdown put in place on March 23 in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus, a World Health Organisation (WHO) expert maintains the UK still needs to be careful.

Dr Margaret Harris said the country has done well in bringing the number of coronavirus infections down but still needs to be cautious as lockdown measures are eased.

In an interview on BBC Radio 4's Today programme, she said: "The lesson is for people to understand this is the year of living differently.

"Not, 'OK, it's over'. You haven't just been let out of school.

"The UK has brought a very difficult outbreak right down.
