The Green Bay Packers signed defensive lineman Dean Lowry to a contract extension Tuesday, crossing off one name from the Packers’ long list of scheduled free agents following the 2019 season.
It’s possible GM Brian Gutekunst won’t stop at Lowry.
Here’s who else the Packers could sign long term before the end of the 2019 season:
DL Kenny Clark

His current career path suggests he’s about to solidify his status as one of the NFL’s most dominant interior forces in 2019. While Clark is under contract for the next two years, Gutekunst and the Packers might want to be proactive and get a long-term deal done early. His price tag is only going to rise, especially with another disruptive season. A deal might make sense for both sides as the end of the 2019 season draws near.
LB Blake Martinez

He’s a tackle machine at linebacker and the Packers’ leader on defense. If Martinez starts becoming a legitimate difference-maker in 2019, the Packers will want him around long term. But at what price? Inside linebackers made good money in free agency this spring. With a good year, Martinez could command $8 million or more per year.
OLB Kyler Fackrell

He came out of nowhere to produce a team-high 10.5 sacks as a rotational rusher in 2018. If Fackrell can replicate or improve on his production in 2019, he’d likely go into free agency as a coveted player. The Packers just spent big money on Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith and will need to sign Clark, so it’s possible there won’t be enough cash to keep Fackrell, especially if he produces another big year.
WR Geronimo Allison

The former undrafted free agent signed a one-year deal to return to the Packers in 2019. If he wins a job as the slot receiver and starts producing big numbers in Matt LaFleur’s offense, the Packers could attempt to lock him up before he gets to free agency.
