Who could Rangers and Aberdeen face in Europa League play-off round?

Rangers and Aberdeen secured safe passage in Europa League qualifying on Thursday night - but there's still a long road ahead to reach the group stage.

Steven Gerrard's side saw out their 2-0 first leg advantage over Progres with a goalless draw while the rampant Dons smashed Chikhura Sachkhere 5-0 at Pittodrie.

Rangers will take on Midtjylland in the third round and Derek McInnes' side face a rematch with Croatian outfit Rijeka, who they beat in 2015.

But the draw for the fourth and final qualifying stage - the play-off round - will take place before these ties this coming Monday.

And, as you'd expect as the competition progresses, there's danger lurking for the Premiership pair if they can navigate their third round ties.

Here's all you need to know about the draw.

When is it?

The draw will take place on Monday, August 5 in Nyon, Switzerland. It gets under way at 1.30pm CET, which is 12.30pm back here in Scotland.

You'll be able to follow it right here in our live blog.

Who could Aberdeen and Rangers face?

Both teams are set to be unseeded should they reach the play-off round, meaning there are some daunting ties potentially lying in wait.

They could face Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven or Feyenoord, as well as Premier League side Wolves. There are potential trips to Spain, Portugal and Germany with Espanyol, Braga and Eintracht Frankfurt likely to reach the play-off round.

Also seeded would be Sparta Prague, Viktoria Plzen, Braga, Legia Warsaw, Partizan Belgrade, Malmo, Gent, Espanyol, Eintracht Frankfurt and Steaua Bucharest.

These possible ties, of course, all depend on these sides also navigating their third round qualifiers but they are the clubs with the highest co-efficients and therefore favourites to progress.
