Who Chelsea's penalty takers will be if Champions League final vs Man City goes to a shootout

Chelsea play their biggest - and last - match of the season on Saturday evening as they go head-to-head with Manchester City in the Champions League final.

The Blues are looking for their first trophy in the famous European tournament since 2012, where they beat Bayern Munich in a penalty shootout.

Both of Chelsea's previous finals have concluded in a penalty shootout - losing the first to Manchester United in 2008 and winning more recently against Bayern Munich in 2012.

There is a real chance of the game ending all-square at the Estadio do Dragao, just as we saw between Manchester United and Villarreal in the Europa League final earlier in the week.

So, who could take the penalties for Chelsea if the match does indeed end in a draw after extra-time?

Jorginho is the obvious one, with the Italian midfielder specialising from 12 yards out. He scored seven from the spot in the Premier League this season.

This means that the Blues star could be set to take the fifth penalty, with plenty of teams using their best option in the most pressured situation.

Timo Werner took penalties during his time at RB Leipzig, so if he is still on the pitch, then he will surely make the dreaded walk from the halfway line to the 12-yard spot.

Mason Mount would be another obvious choice, despite having a lack of experience in terms of penalties for Chelsea, as is Hakim Ziyech, should he be on the pitch.

Reece James is technically very good - and has showcased his shooting ability in the past.

Christian Pulisic has a 100% conversion rate from the penalty spot for USA, with his most recent goal from 12 yards coming in March against Northern Ireland in a friendly.

Kai Havertz is another solid taker for Chelsea to call upon, with the Germany international scoring 13 penalties during his career.

Olivier Giroud has scored 20/21 penalties in the past and could be an option for Thomas Tuchel.

However, Tuchel will be desperate for the Blues to get the job done before the proposition of a nervy shootout in front of a reduced capacity at the Estadio do Dragao.
