Who Celtic can face in the next Champions League qualifier as crucial third round roadmap revealed

Celtic's route to a coveted Champions League group spot is set to become clearer.

The Hoops face Danish outfit FC Midtjylland in the second round of qualifying, with the first leg of that tie at Celtic Park on Tuesday.

Should new manager Ange Postecoglou steer his new side safely through his first two competitive games in charge, Celtic will then have just a pair of two-legged ties standing between themselves and the lucrative group stages.

One ray of light for Aussie boss is that Celtic are seeded for the third round, although they lose that status should they reach the play-off stage.

Even so, there are some seriously tricky opponents lying in wait should the Hoops make it past FC Midtjylland.

Celtic's potential third round opponents:

Genk

PSV Eindhoven

Spartak Moscow

Sparta Prague

After the Champions League draw, Celtic will also be involved in the Europa League draw that follows alongside rivals Rangers.

The loser from their potential CLQR3 tie will drop into qualifying for the Europa League.
