Who can Manchester City face in the Champions League quarter-finals? Possible opponents for Friday’s draw

A stunning five-goal haul from Erling Haaland led Manchester City into the Champions League quarter-finals at the expense of RB Leipzig.

As ever, Pep Guardiola’s side are seen as one of the favourites for the competition outright, but do have a chequered history on its stage.

While many observes would back City to beat most teams in Europe on their day, few would doubt they have generally struggled to translate their domestic dominance into continental competition.

Real Madrid, who famously knocked them out of the semi-finals last time out, are again potential opponents,

Chelsea, the team who beat Guardiola in his only Champions League final since 2011, are another. The Spaniard’s former club in Bayern Munich could also provide a stern test
