Who can just turn up and get their first dose Covid vaccine in Swansea Bay this weekend

People who have not yet had their first Covid vaccine and are aged under 39 can get it at walk-in sessions in Swansea and Neath Port Talbot today.

Bay Field Hospital Mass Vaccination Centre in Fabian Way is offering drop-in vaccine sessions for people aged 18-39 on Saturday, July 3 and Sunday, July 4.

On Saturday, drop-ins will be accepted between 9am and 7.40pm and between 10am and 6pm on Sunday.

To get the jab, all people need to do is show up between the aforementioned times and bring ID and proof of address. People who attend the walk-in sessions on either day will be given a dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Swansea Bay University Health Board's mobile 'Immbulance' will also be at City Church in Dyfatty Street, Swansea, between 9am and 4pm on Saturday. The Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine will be offered to those over the age of 40 who need a first dose. Some areas of Swansea now have case rates over 100 and some are double that figure. You can read more about that here.

The health board said it was particularly interested to see members of the migrant community, refugees and asylum seekers who had not yet had the vaccine.

If you are under 40 and attend the City Church site, free transport to the mass vaccination centre in Fabian Way will be provided. Anyone attending the sites is asked to observe social distancing guidelines.
