In the NFC West, there aren’t many very good tight ends. In fact, there is only one great one. That would be the San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle.
He will obviously be No. 1 in the division at the position. But how will the rest get listed?
Here are the top six tight ends in the division, from sixth to first.
No. 6: Nick Vannett Seahawks

“Baby Gronk” has not yet become anything close to Gronk. His best season was last year and he had a paltry 29 receptions. He is better than the numbers and has potential. He just doesn’t rank higher on this list.
No. 5: Tyler Higbee, Rams

Higbee has talent but isn’t even the best tight end on his team. He finished with 24 catches in 2018, one less than in 2017.
No. 4: Gerald Everett, Rams

Everett has not yet lived up to his second-round status as a playmaker but he became a reliable third option after Cooper Kupp got hurt.
No. 3: Ricky Seals-Jones, Cardinals

Surprising stat — Seals-Jones led all NFC West tight ends (other than Kittle) in receptions and receiving yards. That happened while playing in the league’s worst offense in only his second season at the position.
No. 2: Charles Clay, Cardinals

Clay has not yet played for the Cardinals and he is coming off a disappointing 2018 but he averaged 57 catches for the five previous seasons and is versatile enough to do anything at the position. Kliff Kingsbury is excited to have him in his offense.
No. 1: George Kittle, 49ers

Kittle had 88 catches for 1,377 yards. With Rob Gronkowski’s retirement, not only is he the best tight end in the division, he is arguably the best in the league.
