With the four teams in the NFC West, there are eight starting cornerbacks. There are some good names. But who are the very best at the position in the division? Let’s see who the top five are.
No. 5: Shaquill Griffin, Seahawks

To begin, we will say that Robert Alford, Tre Flowers and Ahkello Witherspoon are all capable players. They do not, though, make our top five.
Griffin was talented enough for the Seahawks to move on from Richard Sherman. However, he was inconsistent in his first season as the team’s top guy. He is not as good as Sherman. He is, though, a starter on any team in the division not named the Rams.
No. 4: Aqib Talib, Rams

Talib is not as great as he once was but he is still one of the more fearsome cover players. He is fearless and tough. He only played in eight games last season so his durability is a concern.
No. 3: Richard Sherman, 49ers

Sherman is still one of the best even though he is not as devastating as he once was. He is still very consistent. He is still avoided by opposing quarterbacks. He is not the playmaker he once was.
No. 2: Marcus Peters, Rams

Peters is not always stable and can let his emotions get away from him, but he can cover and he can make plays. His three interceptions last season were the fewest of his career. He can still get even better.
No. 1: Patrick Peterson, Cardinals

Peterson is still the best. For years, he has had his name among the top three to five in the league. He is consistent. He is versatile and can erase a player a week, and he will return to covering the No. 1 threat each week in 2019. he is rarely targeted and still manages to make some highlight interceptions.
