Who are Pillow Queens? All you need to know about Irish rock band on RTE Late Late Show

Pillow Queens are an Irish band hailing from Co Dublin.

They are appearing on RTE's Late Late Show tonight, where they'll play The Cranberries single When You're Gone.

It will feature on a forthcoming album of covers of songs from The Cranberries in aid of Pieta.

The Dublin based band have been garnering much attention recently following the release of their debut album 'In Waiting' in September of 2020.

They posted on Twitter: "We hadn’t been on telly in a while so we’re very excited to announce that we will be performing on The Late Late Show this Friday evening.

"We’ll be performing something you’ve never heard us perform before."

Pillow Queens first formed in 2016 are fronted by lead vocalist and guitarist Sarah Corcoran backed by Rachel Lyons on drums, Cathy McGuinness on lead guitar and Pamela Connolly also on lead vocals and bass.

The group have slowly built a name for themselves for the fresh indie pop rock sound combining the rough edges of 90s rock and grunge with sweet vocals.

Critics and fans alike have praised the group for their energetic live performances and sound in their recorded material.

They've also been a fixture of he Irish music festival scene playing at the likes of Electric Picnic and All Together now.

In 2020, their single Gay Girls featured on the soundtrack to the Amazon Original Irish film Dating Amber.
