Who Aaron Wan-Bissaka named as his toughest Premier League opponent

Manchester United's incoming right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka singled out a Chelsea player as the best player he faced during his debut season in the Premier League.

Wan-Bissaka is on the verge of becoming United's second signing of the summer after the club agreed a £50million deal with Crystal Palace for the defender's transfer.

United are set to pay £45m up front for the 21-year-old with Palace due an extra £5m in add-ons.

Speaking in February of this year, Wan-Bissaka named Eden Hazard as the toughest opponent he had faced during his fledgling career.

"He [Hazard] was the toughest," Wan-Bissaka told The Guardian in February. "He’s just busy. I’m not saying I can’t read him, but he does so much on the ball, and off it too.

"He doesn’t just get it and pass it on. He always does something: maybe not directly against me, but something that affects me somehow, dragging me out of position, freeing someone else up to run at me. He’s so clever, one of the best. At the same time, those are the situations you learn most from."

Wan-Bissaka has agreed a five-year contract at United worth £80,000 per week, with the club retaining the option to extend that deal by a further year.

It has not yet been decided when Wan-Bissaka will link up with his teammates ahead of the Reds' pre-season tour of Australasia.

The youngster only returned from international duty with England's under-21s earlier this week and is due to go on holiday following the completion of his medical at Carrington on Thursday.

It is feasible that he will fly out for part of the tour but it seems unlikely that he will be available for the game against Perth Glory in Perth on July 13.
