A Tasmanian woman who was bitten by a shark in Queensland's Whitsundays has flown into Hobart to continue her treatment.
Burnie woman Justine Barwick sustained serious leg injuries when bitten by a shark while swimming off a charter yacht in Cid Harbour just over a fortnight ago.
The 46-year-old underwent extensive reconstructive surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.
Last week, Ms Barwick revealed she was learning to walk again.
"There are many hours of physio and occupational therapy sessions in my future," she said in a message to her work colleagues at Family Based Care.
"I think I am up to the task! Please be patient with me as I undertake this work."
Over the past week Ms Barwick has progressed from walking 10 metres on a frame with help, to walking unaided on crutches, Family Based Care said in a statement on Friday.
"We have achieved a number of rehabilitation milestones, but returning back to Tasmania is a significant one, Justine will soon be back in Hobart with her family around her," her husband, Craig, said in the statement.
Ms Barwick thanked Brisbane nurses, doctors and other staff for her recovery so far.
A 12-year-old girl was bitten on the leg in Cid Harbour the day after Ms Barwick was attacked.
Since the attacks, Queensland Fisheries placed drumlines in the area and caught several tiger sharks.
