More than a dozen people have been charged after a Queensland police operation targeting ice trafficking in the Whitsundays.

Detectives searched 11 properties during the week, seizing a drug lab, about 2kg of methamphetamine, firearms, ammunition and $30,000 in cash.

Officers charged 16 people with about 200 offences, including trafficking, supply and possession of dangerous drugs and weapons, police said on Thursday.

Detective Sergeant Luke Scells said the operation would significantly disrupt drug trade within the region
