Whitley Bay woman claims two pythons could be on the loose after finding snake skin

If you needed another reason to stay indoors during the coronavirus lockdown then this could well be it.

Not one but TWO snakes could be on the loose in North Tyneside according to a Whitley Bay woman.

And if life wasn't scary enough at the minute - they could be pythons.

The snakeskins found outside a Whitley Bay home which owner Sabina Jaigirdar fears belong to a pyton (ChronicleLive)

Sabina Jaigirdar was clearing out her shed on Thursday when, on the end of a rake, she spotted a snake's skin - it was enough to almost make her jump out of her own.

"I am terrified of snakes," she said.

"I used to live in Bangladesh, and we had all sorts there. We had a python on a mango tree outside my bedroom window and thankfully my dad got rid of that.

"Once there was another poisonous snake that got in (the house) when I was asleep but the cat killed it, so I don't have a great experience of snakes."

And to make matters worse for Sabina, she fears the serpents may have slithered into her home.

"I was freaking out," admitted Sabina.

"I eventually got in touch with the RSPCA but they said that unless I'd seen it, due to the lockdown they wouldn't come out.

"I understand that completely, but it isn't great not knowing where the snakes are."
