Whitley Bay High School applies to install flood lights on its sports pitch

A North Tyneside school has applied to the authority for permission to install flood lights on its sports pitch.

Whitley Bay High School say the lights will be set up so they don't disturb neighbouring residents.

A statement to the council said :"The floodlights will be situated so that they face down where in line with residents windows so that the light does not face into windows."

The school said the lighting will be in operation from 7.00am to 8.30am and from 5.00pm to 9.00pm during winter months.

The document added: "The lighting will be on time switch so that set times are adhered to. The lighting will not be on sensor movement which tends to lead to negative impact on neighbours."

North Tyneside Council will decide whether to grant the application by 8th May.
