Whitehall has been reopened following reports of a suspicious package.
Police were on the scene and confirmed they were dealing with a suspicious package on King Charles Street.
The road was reopened after around half an hour.
Images from the scene showed street level access to Westminster station closed to the public.
However the station remained open.
Images from Westminster showed empty streets.
The incident came as protesters prepared to march through Westminster as part of the Million Mask March.
