The British Legion in Whiteabbey has had to close for a deep clean after a 'number of visitors' tested positive for Coronavirus.
A statement from the Shore Road club said a number of people who had been in on Tuesday, August 4 were later found to have the virus.
As a result they shut the club for cleaning and with plans to reopen at 12noon on Wednesday, August 11.
A statement on their Facebook page read: "Unfortunately we had to close the Club for a few days as we have been informed of a number of visitors who have tested positive for Coronavirus/ Covid 19.
"The visitors were in the Club on Tues, August 4 and presented themselves for testing on Sat, Aug 8 after one of them displayed signs of and was eventually diagnosed as proving Covid 19 positive."
As a result of their signing in policy, the club said they were able to trace and notify everyone who in the club on the same day of what had happened.
They then decided to close for a deep clean.
"As a consequence of this information being relayed to us, we feel that it is incumbent upon us to react in a safe and responsible manner and we have taken the decision to close the Club on Sun, Aug 9. We have called in Bio Solutions, who are experts in this field of cleaning and they are scheduled to start a deep clean and "fogging", which is a process of spraying all visible surfaces."
The club's surfaces were sprayed on Monday, August 10 and they planned to reopen at 12noon on Tuesday.
"We would like to take this opportunity to wish those who have tested positive, a safe and healthy return to well being and also to re-assure our staff, members and visitors, that their health and well being are prominent in our thoughts and actions," they added.
They did not respond to requests for a comment from Belfast Live.
