White van in Fyshwick ramraids

A stolen white van recovered in Oaks Estate is suspected to have been used to ram into the front windows of two Fyshwick businesses on Thursday morning.

Between 2-3am on Thursday, a white van intentionally drove at a Gladstone Street business, smashing the front shop windows before driving off without entering the premises.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the premises. Entry was not gained to the premises and extra security was now being put in place to prevent a recurrence.

Police believe the same van is linked to a second incident the same morning where windows at a Beaconsfield Street insulation business were smashed and a roller door opened.

Police later recovered the white van, which was being examined for forensic evidence. Investigations were continuing.

Anyone who may have seen the white van in the Fyshwick area in the early hours of Thursday morning and people acting suspiciously in the two areas where the incidents occurred, is urged to contact Crime Stoppers ACT on 1800 333 000 or by clicking or touching here.
