A white van driver was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences in Stalybridge late last night (December 7).
A Ford Transit had passed the Greater Manchester Police Traffic officers at speed.
Officers signalled the vehicle to stop and the driver was subsequently arrested after officers checked the van.
They tweeted: "Vehicle stopped and driver has been arrested after the chassis was checked and the van was found to be an outstanding stolen on false plates."
Officers said the suspect was "en route to custody" after being arrested on suspicion theft, drug driving and drug possession.
