Production pictures for Kiln Theatre’s world premiere adaptation of White Teeth have been released.

Stephen Sharkey has adapted the musical comedy based on Zadie Smith’s breakthrough novel, which opens at the theatre today.

The story follows the interconnecting lives of people living on the Kilburn High Road, including Rosie Jones, the Iqbal twins, their parents and grandparents and Mad Mary, as well as a wealth of other characters.

Kiln’s artistic director Indhu Rubasingham directs a cast that includes Amanda Wilkin, Michele Austin, Ayesha Dharker, Richard Lumsden, Tony Jayawardena and Ayesha Antoine, with design by Tom Piper, composition by Paul Englishby, lighting by Oliver Fenwick, sound by Carolyn Downing, movement by Polly Bennett and musical direction by Chris Traves.

Smith’s novel was a bestseller when released in 2000.

White Teeth runs at Kiln Theatre until December 22, kilntheatre.com
