White Sox will pay minor-league players through June

The White Sox said Tuesday they will continue paying minor league players through the end of June, including 26 players they released last week.

Major League Baseball on March 31 extended minor league players’ $400-per-week stipends and medical benefits through the end of May.

Last week, the Sox joined several other teams by committing to retaining employees with salary and benefits with no furloughs through the end of June during baseball’s shutdown due to the coronavirus.
