BOSTON — The White Sox’ scheduled game with the Red Sox Friday night at Fenway Park has been postponed due to rain.

The game will be made up as part of a split doubleheader Sunday, with 12:10 p.m. and 4:10 p.m. CT start times. Both games will be seven innings.

The teams are scheduled to play Saturday at 3:10 p.m. CT.

The White Sox (6-7) were slated to open a four-game series before playing two in Cleveland Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Red Sox (9-4) own the best record in the American League and second best in the majors behind the 11-2 Dodgers.

The Sox went 3-3 in their first homestand of the season, wasting a strong start by Lance Lynn in a 4-2 loss to the Indians Thursday on the afternoon after Carlos Rodon pitched the franchise’s 20th no-hitter in history in an 8-0 victory.

Sox starting pitchers are 4-1 with a 2.07 ERA, 75 strikeouts and a .175 opponents average over the last 11 games.

Dylan Cease was the expected starter Friday.
