Yoan Moncada and Matt Davidson swapped roster spots Friday before the White Sox took on the Tigers in the first of a three-game series at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The White Sox placed Moncada, a rookie second baseman, on the 10-day disabled list with a bone bruise of his right shin.
The team also activated third baseman Matt Davidson from the DL on Friday. He had been there since Aug. 6 (retroactive to Aug. 4) with a bruise in his right wrist after he was hit by a pitch Aug. 1.
Moncada is batting .188 with three home runs, six doubles and 11 RBIs in 30 games.
Davidson has 22 home runs, 51 RBIs and is batting .238 in 88 games. He is tied for third among American League rookies in home runs.
