White Sox first baseman José Abreu was named American League Player of the Month for August on Thursday, his fourth career monthly honor.

Abreu, 34, batted .330/.382/.661 with 10 homers, seven doubles, 25 RBI and 22 runs scored over 28 games. He also won the August AL Player of the Month Award in 2020.

Abreu led the league with 74 total bases and ranked tied for second in homers in August. He was third in runs scored and fifth in slugging and OPS (1.043).

Abreu leads the majors with 102 RBI and is batting .264/.344/.499 with 28 home runs in 127 games this season. He is a career .335/.390/.604 hitter in August.
