CHICAGO _ Yoan Moncada, Yasmani Grandal, Jose Abreu and Eloy Jimenez hit consecutive home runs in the fifth inning Sunday for the Chicago White Sox in a 7-2 victory against the St. Louis Cardinals at Guaranteed Rate Field.
It's the second time in franchise history that the Sox hit four homers in a row. The first time was Aug. 14, 2008, in the sixth inning against the Kansas City Royals, when Jim Thome, Paul Konerko, Alexei Ramirez, Juan Uribe accomplished the feat.
All four of Sunday's home runs came off reliever Roel Ramirez, who was making his major-league debut.
Moncada started the home run derby with a three-run blast to right, his fourth of the season.
Grandal was next. The solo home run, also to right field, was his first as a Sox player.
Abreu then homered to left, his fourth of the season. Jimenez followed with his team-leading seventh, also to left.
It marked the 10th time in major-league history a team hit four consecutive home runs.
Dallas Keuchel allowed two runs on four hits with one strikeout and two walks in 5? innings to improve to 3-2.
The Sox salvaged the finale of the three-game series and are back at .500 (11-11).
