White Sox Game Day: Trying to sweep the Angels

Aug. 13--The White Sox will try for a series sweep against the Angels on Wednesday night at U.S. Cellular Field when left-hander John Danks takes the mound. Danks enters with a 6-9 record and a 4.79 ERA. He faces Angels left-hander Andrew Heaney, who is 5-1 with a 2.45 ERA.

At the plate

Sox designated hitter Adam Eaton will lead off, followed by third baseman Tyler Saladino, first baseman Jose Abreu, left fielder Melky Cabrera, right fielder Avisail Garcia, shortstop Alexei Ramirez, center fielder Trayce Thompson, catcher Tyler Flowers and second baseman Gordon Beckham.

On the mound

Danks allowed three earned runs on five hits over six innings in his last start against the Royals. He is 2-0 with an 0.49 ERA over his last three home starts.

On the bench

Sox manager Robin Ventura gives designated hitter Adam LaRoche a second straight night off.
