Saturday's recap: Twins 5, White Sox 3

May 03--The summary

White Sox right-hander Hector Noesi was charged with five runs on five hits in 41/3 innings Saturday at Target Field on the way to a 5-3 loss to the Twins, the Sox's fourth setback in a row.

At the plate

Avisail Garcia was 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the third to push the Sox to a 3-1 lead, but he flied out to center field to strand two runners in the eighth inning.

On the mound

Noesi exited with the game tied 3-3, leaving runners on the corners for reliever Carlos Rodon. Trevor Plouffe then singled and Kurt Suzuki hit a sacrifice fly for the Twins' winning margin. Plouffe and Torii Hunter hit home runs off Noesi, Hunter's two-run shot tying game in the third.

Still out

Center fielder Adam Eaton missed his second straight game will illness, something Sox manager Robin Ventura said is going around the clubhouse to varying degrees.

Key number

2-10 -- Sox road record.

The quote

"His curveball became better as he went along. We had him on the ropes a couple of times. He got out of one with the double play. But we aren't finding holes right now." -- Ventura on Twins starter Ricky Nolasco

The quote II

"It feels uncomfortable sometimes because you can't keep the rhythm (pitching three times) in a month. Sometimes you want to push too hard to try to get the team to win games." -- Noesi
