July 28--The White Sox scored four first-inning runs against Red Sox right-hander Joe Kelly to take an early 4-2 lead at Fenway Park.
Adam Eaton and Tyler Saladino sparked the White Sox spurt with back-to-back triples to lead off the game. David Ortiz hit a two-run homer off White Sox left-hander John Danks in the bottom of the first.
In the middle of a frustrating slump, White Sox designated hitter Adam LaRoche will sit out Monday's game against the Red Sox and could take Tuesday off too. Sox manager Robin Ventura said he wants LaRoche to work in the cage and "ease the mind."
Eaton, who jammed his left shoulder while trying to make a diving catch Saturday, will be the designated hitter, while J.B. Shuck will continue to play in center field as the Sox open a four-game series against the Red Sox at Fenway Park.

Eaton will lead off, followed by third baseman Tyler Saladino, left fielder Melky Cabrera, first baseman Jose Abreu, right fielder Avisail Garcia, center fielder J.B. Shuck, shortstop Alexei Ramirez, catcher Tyler Flowers and second baseman Carlos Sanchez.
On the mound
Sox left-hander John Danks takes the mound with a 5-8 record and a 4.66 ERA. He faces Red Sox right-hander Joe Kelly, who is 2-6 with a 5.74 ERA.
