White Sox Game Day: John Danks has been a Royals pain

Aug. 08--White Sox left-hander John Danks will try to continue his career success against the Royals on Friday night at Kauffman Stadium. Danks is 4-1 with a 2.09 ERA in 11 career starts at Kauffman Stadium. He opens a three-game series against right-hander Edinson Volquez.

At the plate

Sox center fielder Adam Eaton will lead off, followed by third baseman Tyler Saladino, first baseman Jose Abreu, left fielder Melky Cabrera, right fielder Avisail Garcia, shortstop Alexei Ramirez, second baseman Carlos Sanchez and catcher Tyler Flowers.

On the mound

Danks enters with a 6-8 record and a 4.80 ERA. Volquez is 10-6 with a 3.20 ERA.

In the field

Abreu is playing at first base after spending three of the last four games as the Sox designated hitter.
