April 16--The summary
A ninth-inning White Sox rally stalled against closer Cody Allen as the Indians snapped the Sox's three-game winning streak with a 4-2 victory Wednesday at Progressive Field. On the mound
On his 30th birthday, Sox left-hander John Danks gave up four runs -- three earned -- on six hits with two walks and three strikeouts. The Indians' Lonnie Chisenhall scored in the third inning on a Michael Bourn groundout and then had a two-run double in the fourth to give the Indians a three-run lead.
At the plate
Adam LaRoche walked and scored on an Alexei Ramirez groundout before Conor Gillaspie, who had doubled, scored on J.B. Shuck's single in the sixth.
In the field
Backup catcher Geovany Soto was credited with an error when his throw to second to try to catch the lead runner following a sacrifice bunt bounced past Ramirez. The Indians then scored their first run, unearned.
