CHICAGO _ Edwin Encarnacion and Michael Brantley each hit two-run home runs and the White Sox were shut out for the second night in a row, this time 7-0 by the Indians on Saturday in front of 32,094 at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Carlos Carrasco held the Sox to three hits and struck out eight in eight innings.
White Sox outfielder Jacob May, who had been hitless in his first 26 major-league at-bats, had a pinch-hit single in the seventh inning, one of three hits the White Sox managed.
Second baseman Tyler Saladino had the White Sox's other two hits.
White Sox starter Mike Pelfrey allowed four runs (two earned), four hits, a walk and struck out one in 4 1/3 innings of his White Sox debut. He was starting in place of James Shields, who was put on the 10-day disabled list with a right lat muscle strain.
