CHICAGO _ Leury Garcia hit two home runs, the first multi-homer game of his career, but it wasn't enough as the White Sox extended their season-long losing streak to six after falling 6-3 to the Padres at Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday.
Former Cubs outfielder Matt Szczur hit the first pitch of the game from Miguel Gonzalez over the left-field fence for his first home run of the season.
Austin Hedges doubled in two more for the Padres in the third and hit a solo home run in the sixth for San Diego (14-23).
Wil Myers added a solo home run in the ninth to push the Padres' lead to three.
The White Sox, who will be without shortstop Tim Anderson this weekend while he attends the funeral of his friend in Tuscaloosa, Ala., fell to 15-18.
