The White Sox reportedly are close to a deal with free agent pitcher Gio Gonzalez.
The former All-Star was 3-2 with a 3.50 ERA in 871⁄3 innings last season with the Brewers. He went on the injured list on June 1 with what manager Craig Counsell called a case of “dead arm.” He returned on July 20 and made 11 starts.
