PHILADELPHIA — The White Sox placed right-hander Carson Fulmer on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a strained right hamstring and recalled right-hander Dylan Covey from Class AAA Charlotte.

Fulmer (5.30 ERA) was hurt running out a ground ball in the 14th inning of the White Sox’ 4-3 win in 15 innings over the Phillies Friday. He had pitched two scoreless innings and, batting against Phillies outfielder Roman Quinn, almost drove in the go-ahead run but was robbed of a hit by diving third baseman Maikel Franco. Fulmer was out on a close play and was met by training staff as he came off the field.

Covey is 1-7 with a 6.99 ERA in 14 appearances (10 starts) with the Sox this season. He was optioned to Charlotte on Sunday, but didn’t pitch there since then. Covey owns a 1.85 ERA and 25 strikeouts over eight games (six starts) with the Knights in 2019.

The Sox used all of their relief pitchers in the game Friday. They face the Phillies tonight with lefty Ross Detwiler starting. Detwiler (6.35 ERA) has pitched six and 2 13 innings in his two starts this season.
