MLB is building a temporary ballpark at the site of Field of Dreams _ and the White Sox and Yankees are coming.
The game is scheduled for Aug. 13, 2020, and will be broadcast nationally on Fox.
According to MLB.com, construction of a temporary 8,000-seat ballpark at the site in Dyersville, Iowa, will start Tuesday _ exactly one year from the date of the game. It's the first-ever major-league game in the state.
The game, according to MLB.com, will be considered a White Sox home date.
Fans attending the game will walk along a pathway through a cornfield to the field, which will pay homage to Comiskey Park.
"As a sport that is proud of its history linking generations, Major League Baseball is excited to bring a regular season game to the site of Field of Dreams," Commissioner Rob Manfred said on MLB.com. "We look forward to celebrating the movie's enduring message of how baseball brings people together at this special cornfield in Iowa."
This Friday, the White Sox are holding a screening of the movie after the game against the A's at Guaranteed Rate Field.
